Thanks for looking!

Wow, those are some great shots. I especially like the first one. Did your snake stay still long enough for you to focus the camera or do you know tricks you could pass on? Mine won't stay still.

He/She is gorgeous! I especially love the third picture (looks like she's snuggling onto the board!) and the one coming at you in the grass is astonishing. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you very much!

He was actually pretty active today, so patience was the word. But what I like to do is hold my snakes for a minute before I set them down to photograph. It seems to tire them out a little, or at least it gets them to not be so skiddish about my hands constantly moving in front of them. Then when I have them down, I just try to stay out in front of them and snap as many pics as I can.

Mostly though, it's more of a patience thing. They'll have moments of pausing, so I just keep the lens on them as best I can. If they're on a surface that requires them to investigate it (like a limb, shelf, or other raised structure), instead of being able to have a straight get away, they seem to take more pauses as well.

Thanks for the comment!

Thank you kindly! The snuggly photo was a funny one. He was cruising along, and just seemed to catch an interest in that part of the board. Maybe a smell?...

I can practically hear him purring ;) Or talking seductively like Pepe Le Peu

Haha! Yeah, he was enjoying himself for sure.

Great shots!! Sent you a pm about the 3rd one.
Thank you! Sent you one back...

Beautifull pics!!
And beautifull snake too of course :)
Thank you very much! I think I got really lucky with the lighting outside. It was bright, but also overcast, so I was able to get quite a few clear shots of him.
