Bloodred Motley?

Ok, so I was wondering what is the best way to tell if a baby corn snake is a Motley Bloodred. Baby bloodreds can usually be told by the white belly and the coloring on their sides, but Motleys have the white belly also. Is there another way to tell besides the white belly and the red coloration on their sides? This is a female that I have. I originally thought Normal Motley, as much of you guys did. But look at these photos. Look at the red coloration right next to her white belly...does that look like a possible bloodred? I could be completely wrong lol...I am just curious :)

Why do you think she might be a bloodred motley? Was she sold as that? Take this with a grain of salt, because I have never seen a hatchling BRM, but I would expect the "mots" to be gray, except for possibly a couple up by her head. If you look at normal bloodred hatchlings, you typically see very gray and red snakes. Not so much orange and red. But that is just what I would guess, not what I know.

BRs also have a little grey head with little skull eyeball markings. he has a normal color head with grey eyeball markings

very cute though *congrats!*

No, she is just a Petco corn...I just thought she looked like she might possibly be BR...:) It was purely curiousity...but if someone has a pic of a baby Bloodred Motley, I would love to see it, so that I know what I am looking for :)

Someone on here, I can't remember who, just bought one at a show. You could do a search and probably turn it up. The selling price was CRAZY!!!

Yeah I can definitely see the difference though...It almost looks like the red coloring bled onto the rest of the snake :) Thanks to all who responded! I appreciate the help!

i just picked up a bloodred motley this is what it looks like.

Yep, thanks :) Yours is the one that made me realize that mine was, in no way, a bloodred. Beautiful snake BTW :)

Nanci - are you talking about me? lol.

I'll have to find a pic of her...but she died not long after I posted a thread on her... :(

Henry and Phoebe. Nobody move, and nobody gets hurt, you see. It's just about the snakes. You see? You are going to both hand them over peacefully, and we're all gonna walk away quietly. Any sudden movements, and my trigger finger gets a nervous twitch. So place the two snakes slowly in my hand....and and we will all back out of this unharmed. You see? Yeah, that's the ticket.

Incidentally, I'm in PetSmarts and PetCos, visiting friends/employees and buying dogfood and F/T, all the time, and have never come across such a cute pickup as yours, Phoebe. Congratulations.

Christine...no...I didn't. She was in a grab-bag tank of corns...and was $30. Lasted a couple months after the show...then got a strange bulge in her head and died. Looked very similar to the pic posted here...
