bloodred question

Does the amount of grey on the head of a bloodred baby determine how "red" the snake will be? I have seen babies with almost completely grey heads and babies with just a little grey.

The gray head of bloodreds has nothing to do with how red they will turn out (and neither is the amount of diffusion an indicator of adult coloration) and may actually be controlled by a completely separate gene as a breeder has isolated that look in non-bloodreds.

And, to add to what Susan has said, that any recessive genes that the snake carries, can also play a hand in the color of the snake.
