Blue for 3 weeks?

ok a little background info first: my corn is 2 years old now and getting pretty big. He has never had trouble with shedding or anything and doesnt eat when he's about to. But, this time tomorrow will be 3 weeks since he last ate and started the process. It never takes this long. His eyes are very blue now so im hoping he sheds soon, im getting kind of worried. What would cause this? I know about humidity problems, but it's never taken this long so i dont think its that. And if it is, his favorite place to stay is where he gets the most air so adding humidity inside his viv wouldnt really help. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have a female that refuses to eat for at least 2 weeks before shed, and they do enter a pre shed state. That said, your male is old enough to go into breeder mode and when that happens, they sometimes won't eat for months. Mine went off food last year for 3 months and so far this year, he hasn't eaten for almost 2. I'm still breeding him to my female, so there's no telling how long it will be until he eats.

A lot of them get what I call a pre-blue stage where they are dull, but not really fully in blue. This can sometimes be two weeks before they actually go into deep blue. Then once in deep blue it takes a couple of days for them to clear and then a few more days before they actually shed. That can amount to almost 3 weeks. I suspect yours will shed soon.

thanks for clearing that up, MegF, my 04 hypo just took 2 weeks and it was exactly how you described it, I was just starting to fret when he cleared and shed, it was such a relief to see him bright and active again

It never hurts to give extra humidity at shed time to make it go easier on them and it does speed up the process a bit.

I suggest you take a tupperware tub or a small airy container and fill it with moistened papertowels, or moist sphagnum moss and put him in there for an hour or so each day. The humidity will help his shed process, though as it has been mentioned up above this sounds quite normal to take this long. My suggestion is simply to help speed things up a bit for the little fella!
