blue phase or dehydration?

Hey corn lovers.

I understand that snakes will go through a blue period (hazy eyes and dull skin) before she actually sheds. This next thing is what im not so sure of, which is, will she or wont she return to normal color before actual shed? You see, a few days ago she went blue and has since returned to normal color. If that is normal then everything is a-ok. However, why am concerned is because the fading of her colors and eyes seemed to correspond with a little temp & humidity issue we suffered. The day after (literally) i corrected the temp and humidity, her color went back to normal.

Could it be a sign of dehydration or does dehydration in snakes not manifest this way?

I do know, in humans a persons skin can become pale or ashy if dehydrated.
I could see the same for snakes but im not sure.

Oh yeah, a couple of days before she went blue on me, she regurged her two pinkie meal that was fed to her a day and a half prior. Havent fed her since... waiting for the 8-10 day rule.

Let me know...if you know. thanks

Yes she will return to her normal color before she sheds, so your snake will be shedding very soon:). As for dehydration, in snakes, when they are dehydrated (from what I've read) their skin will get wrinkly and get folds. If you are having any humidity issue I strongly recommend making a humid hide, my snake loves his humid hide and stays in it even when hes not about to shed. My snake will also sometime regurge when hes about to shed, so just follow the advice here on regurges and you should be ok. Good luck with your snakes shed. ;)
