BOAPHILE PLASTICS CAGES

I was wondering if anyone has pictures of these cages set up with there snakes in them. they are a good price and i need a stackable setup but all the pictures on there site are just pictures of the plain black empty cage which doesnt look very nice. just curious if they look better once they are set up. i think they would since it would be more colorful inside with aspen bedding, hides, and the snake himself. if anyone has pictures of them i would be greatful if you could post them.

Well since nobody has commented I'll add my 2 cents.

Everything I've heard about Boaphile is that they take FOREVER to get the cage to you after you've paid. I'm talking several months. Personally, I like to keep my own money in the bank rather than let someone else use it so I went with Jungle Habitats. I've also read that they can be slow, but that wasn't my experience. The cage was a little rough around the edges (litteraly) but it works and everything was as advertised.

I've heard good things about Animal Plastics.

Here's a pic of my 36"x24"x18" with paper towel substrate.

I have heard that they can be slow but it is because they are made to order. They come with just about anything you could ever need. I was thinking about get a pair so I could have at least two more snakes.

yeah its a nice looking set up you have and ill look into the company you used. just trying to find a nice, cheap, stackable setup so i can have more reptiles and not have the scattered around in glass tanks.

I personally have seen these cages up close and I like them.

And yes, its true they are slow but again they make everything to order. Why have cages lying around in case they do not sell?

I personally like the look of White cages myself.

Well they look much better with a bunch of cage decorations in them, which are obvisouly absent here.

Just plan ahead, its what I am doing. Get the cages while the snakes are small. Most the animals I have are in QT right now that would be placed in these cages. Plus it would free up those larger cages for some of my growing animals. If you order now, you should be able to get your cages around spring time. Perfect time for organizing the herp room and do some spring cleaning. :)

I do recommend Boaphile for the cage setup but if you want a NICE cheap Rack system in the future. I would go with Animal plastics. I need to order one of these as well.

i looked at the animal plastics website and i dont like the doors on there cages. they slide or you get two doors that swing open instead of one large one. i know i am being picky but for the kind of money that these cost might as well be picky and just get what you like. i am still looking at making one of these myself the only problem with that is the arcylic isnt cheap unless you buy in bulk.to make it worth my wild i would have to buy enough to make 10 or more vivs.so for now i guess ill keep looking at different companies and look at building them myself.

I agree, but as Racks go, I think they are the best for the price.
Here is my animal plastic Rack.

As for building cage, yeah, its kinda spendy and rather have someone else build it for me. I personally do not like Wood for caging. To many problems especially if you get mites, so I stick with the Acrylic.

i agree about the racks but i just dont like racks much to begin with since you cant see your snake in them well if they are closed. they are gorgeous creatures and i want to show them off.

There is also Glasscages.com

They make custom acrylic cages and have a lot of different styles.

If I see anything I'll let you know. I am in the process of either building a rack or buying one.

Well, I can't show any pics or anything as I have only ordered my cages on the first of the month and they are due to arrive the end of the month. I don't think a one month wait is all that bad though, lets wait to see if they "deliver". :)

I'm only getting one cage for myself though, for a boa. Unfortunately I don't have the room for lots of cages considering I live in a small house and only have one snake room :( So I ordered 10 of the ball python racks. They look pretty cool and finally a rack that uses space convenience for those extra long under bed boxes!!! I'll try and show pics of the decorated boa cage once it's here.

The nice thing is that with the expandabe ends on it, I'll be able to get the other half to make the cage an 8 footer next year! :)

yeah it isnt that bad of turn around. after talking with a friend who is a carpenter i am leaning towards just making my own. Just have to figure out what kind of stain would be safe to put on the wood if i make my own, i would think any waterbased one would work but not sure so i have to look into that.

Home made are great but prey you never ever get mites. Wood and Mites just equal a hell of a problem.
