Brand New Babies...They Ate!

Hi all!

The Love babies we picked up Wednesday at their pinkies this evening!

Interestingly, the creamsicle seems nervous and wags the tip of his tail hard and very fast on the paper and sounds like a rattlesnake!

They are beautiful & we should have pictures soon!

Congrats on the feedings. It's so nice when they feed right off the bat. Can't wait to see the pictures. Love babies......I'm jealous now. How many babies did you get? Just curious.

It's always good news when they do exactly what they are supposed to do, lol! Hope they do really great for you!

Good luck with feeding...

That's great that your little ones ate, it can be stressful when they don't. I have had great (luck?) so far this year with my hatchlings. Last night I fed 84 babies and only 8 of them didn't eat. I think having them housed in individual containers and waiting until after their first shed has helped a ton. I had many problem feeders last year, but I also didn't have any baby racks.

Good news on your new babies! Just wondering if anyone knows the reason behind the snake 'wagging' its tail? Our baby corn does it too! :wavey:

They're trying to tell you how scary and intimidating they are when they do that, so that way you don't eat them. ;) It just means the snake is nervous or scared. Keep handling the baby gently and it will soon learn they don't have anything to fear from you.

Congrats on the eating babies!

Oh right, thanks for that! Will have to start handling the little one more. Out of curiosity, how often does everyone handle their snakes? Not really sure how to describe the size of our snakes but we have one little one that's on fuzzies and one bigger one that's on large mice!
