Breeders, what kind or dog/cat food do you add to your mice food?

I just started 2 new mice colonies. I presently feed them both mazuri lab blocks and a mixture for mice and rats food. I was thinking of adding some dog or cat food to this mixture. What kind of dog or cat food would you suggest using? What should I avoid?
 
Lab blocks are a "perfect" food. There is no need to "add" anything. Lab blocks have everything that a mouse/rat needs.
 
Lab blocks are very good for them. I do however add dry kitten chow(generic brand) no dyes. People tell me that dyes can kill your mice.
