I have 2 males and I think I would like to try breeding. But not sure as to what I should get for a female. Would love to get 2 mate for each male. Any ideas on what mofe would be good to pair with my boys.

Also at what age can you start breeding at?

Hello, Suzzie. :) Welcome to the forums.

I would suggest getting a Snow Motley for each of your boys to start. You can test breed them for the 3 most common mutations in one shot (Amel, Anery & Motley). Of course you would expected Anery & Amel offspring from your two boys respectively. Other then that, I would suggest that you pick what you personally like! Their are a wide range of mutations available to fit any budget. :)

3 years / 3 feet / 300g.

Those are the ideal minimums for a female, as underage/undersize breeding carries the risk of eggbinding complications which can be a risk to their lives. The rules are a bit more flexible with males, who are "viable" for breeding at an earlier age.

I've had an (admittedly large) two year old male father a clutch of good eggs, and a member of another forum I visit had an accidental mating of a 10 month old male result in a fertile clutch.

The key with males is their comparative size against the female. The two need to be about the same size. An intimidated male who's put with a female twice his size, isn't going to be "in the mood" quite so readily!
