There are no tricks. Either they will or they won't. You just have to keep putting them together when you think the female is receptive. And then you get the occasional pair that simply don't like each other and will never breed.
 
they locked up once and that was three days ago so i skipped a day put them together last night and they seem to be avoiding each othe like the plague
