hey, i got a pair of brooksi and one is a hypo for sure. but i got the female as a flame. can you give me your thoughts.

Great pair! I believe the flames are hypos that are selectively bred for more red, but don't quote me on that. I just wish they kept more of it as adults than they do.
 
There is a line of flames that are not hypos but they do not share a common look. Also some flames have been line bred enough to keep a lot of their color.
 
Very nice body and head pattern on those brooksi!

I heard that the more red their head is, the more likely they will retain their red color as an adult. So in selecting a flame brooksi, pick one that has the darkest and deepest red color on their head.

I have a red hypo brooksi (not a true flame), and his color is fading as he gets older. He's a light orange now and could possibly even turn yellow, which is fine with me. I love him regardless of his color!
