Bugs In Peat Moss

Thought I'd post this here as it's not snake bedding. CS members have never failed yet on questions I ask (because y'all are awesome!). I guess I wasn't using the right combination of words for Google to find what I need, so here I am.

I have a very large bag of peat moss from Home Depot a while back ago and my lazy butt never took it all out of the bag and into a plastic tub. I used some of it in the turtle cage a while back, so about 1/16 is gone from the bag. I went into it to make a dig box for the rat, but noticed some eggs in the bag. There are also some bugs, probably fungus gnats.

So, the question is, what is the best way to sterilize 3.0 cubic feet of peat moss, plus about 100 pounds or so of turtle substrate (peat moss, sand, topsoil, sheet moss, sphagnum moss)? Would boiling water work or should I bake it?

I feel like a dumb dumb for not noticing sooner. I guess I have a huge overhaul to do in the reptile room for the next few days.
