Building a rack, input needed

Hey everyone. Some of you might have seen my post in the new members section, but to summarize: I have been doing a lot of learning about snake care and am loving the forums. I had always envisioned having a viv with all sorts of silk plants and a real natural look. However the more i learn it seems the more logical and efficient option would be to keep them in tubs at least until they are adults.

I want to build a rack, and was looking at this set of directions except i would probably make it shorter (because i don't have that many snakes... yet)

I just want to pick your brains, and see what your input is. I am sure a lot of you have built your own racks, and I want to learn from your experience.

My idea

Here is my idea.

the top shelf would hold babies in smaller tubs going long ways, then juveniles in larger tubs still longways, with adults being housed in large tubs running lengthwise. Maybe make it so it can hold 3 snakes from hatchlings to full size? Does that seem like a waste? If I wanted more snakes I would have to make another rack for adults (maybe ones that showed them off more? like a full on viv) in that case this rack would be like... a snake starter kit or something, where i would raise them from babies to adults.

I'm still in teh planning process and am very open to ideas and criticism

Here is a post from a Ball python forum where i got the idea from :here

It's a nice looking rack, but in all probability, you can buy one for cheaper as he says. There are a lot of nice rack systems out there that are around the same amount without having to put in the sweat. I made a small rack out of a shoe shelf that I got at Target. Put it together and it holds the small deli cups just fine. Won't be too good for bigger stuff though.

You can check out the design I went with in my signature. One thing I prefer in rack design is to limit the vertical spaces in order to give more floor space. I used larger sweater boxes that give lots of floor space but they are only 6 inches tall. You could easily make a 5 foot tall rack to hold 8 adult snake tubs.
