hey guys ive been seeing threads about people who made cages out of old floor model tvs but i was woundering about how they did it.i have ideas but my questions are more about: how to seal the corners(what to use), how to make a door and where it should be done(with sliding glass or a door in the back). what kind of stuff i should put on the walls of the cage to help with humidity levels etc. anyways if theirs anything you guys think i should know besides that ill be happy to listen :)

I'm a carpenter and I have no ideas with out some pics to answered your many questions, It depends on this and that, too many depends on.

You could just read up on how to build your own VIV , slidding doors and how to seal the walls and then ab lib.

Good luck

Yeah, just read up on how to make some nice sliding doors, etc. Take everything out of the TV and see what you can do from there.

I actually did this out of an old big screen earlier this year. Don't have it anymore, as I had to go with a rack for space issues, but here's a couple pics of the finished product. Basically, I just gutted everything from the inside, built a "floor" out of plywood, and then covered it with plexi-glass for moisture, cleaning purposes. Just a thin, cheap sheet cut to fit. To seal the edges and corners, I just used aguarium glue. The inside walls were already laminated so didn't do anything there. The door was just the protective screen cover that came with the tv. It snaped on and off pretty easily and firmly, so didn't have to make anything there. The base (under the floor of the living area) I left empty and used it as storage. I was planning on adding some climbing areas, but didn't have it in use long enough.

Of course all this is meaningless if you're working with an old furniture type console thing, lol. But figured it couldn't hurt to share. Good luck!
