Building own viv

Ok, stupid question, but have any of you built a big viv before? I was wondering because I have a 20 gallon aquarium and it looks good but when I get a bigger place I would like a bigger viv, and maybe something I could do myself. I know I saw some pics of vivs in another thread and they looked like something custom made. And if you guys do have custom built ones could you post pics of them please? And maybe explain, is necessary what you guys used to make it?
