Burm Question!

Kvlt

Evil One
I saw an albino burmese python the other day, some guy was holding it. And i asked him how old it was and he said 3 years old...but the snake wasnt more than 5-6 feet or something...and i was wondering if it takes that long for them to reach their full lenght (i would think it would be 10 feet or so by 3 years). I also noticed the snake had some pieces of shed on him, so maybe the snakes hasnt been properly fed and thats the reason it was small? :shrugs:

No, they should be 8'-10' by ONE year. That snake must NOT be taken care of properly. Either that or the guy knows squat and the snake is only 6 or so months old.

Burms grow incredibly fast, males are sposed to be 7-8ft their first year (if taken care of properly) and females are sposed to be 8-10ft their first year.

Yep. What Jen said. Merlin is a 2006 baby and already between 4' and 5'. We offer food every week or two (depending on how much he ate and when he ate last). He's a funny burm though - always wants to eat in the dark.
