Butter just hates being pink

Poor fellow moved into his cool side hide (73*) nearly a week ago and hasn't ventured out, as far as we've seen, since. I took him out on Saturday, and he was just going blue, well pink, and put him back. We skipped dinner on Sunday, figuring he'll come out and look around when he gets hungry. Checked on him again last night and he's in deep pink. Changed out his water and stuck his head back in the opening of his cool hide and he just slid in and coiled up. Will probably skip dinner again this week, unless he sheds.

Poor guy just looks like he's miserable. On the good side, the two mice I have left are getting nice and plump.

I have a miserable blue snake, too. Maizey went blue over a week ago, but has started coming out and draping himself like a tree python over his half hollow log hide. He is _so_ blue and blind, it's pathetic!

Hi Bruce, long time no see :)

My RO girl has just this evening completed her pre-lay shed and boy was she miserable while in blue, she positively sulked and even huffed at me a couple of times, when I checked on her in her hide :(

But she seems back to her normal self now and I'm looking forward to eggies in the next week or two :)

I'm sure Butter will be happy to get those nice plump mice, once he's got some new clothes on ;)

Best wishes,

The yellow garden hose that's been coiled up in one of the hides turned back into a snake this morning. An added bonus is that this is his first 100% complete shed with me since I got him in December. It's either the new digs, or an indication that I've finally got him happy and healthy.

I don't think I'm going to make the poor fellow wait till Sunday to eat.

Hey glad to hear he's back to his normal self :)

I wouldn't make him wait either, I'd reward him for the perfect shed with a nice plump mouse ;)

Congrats, sounds like Butter is a lot healthier and happier, so well done for all you've done for him :)

Best wishes,

Thanks. He certainly has wiggled his way into all of our hearts at home for sure. He's such a gentle creature (except to white rodents).
