Buying stuff from the bean farm

Ok so I am finally going to buy an UTH and everything to set up Gunther's gigantic home (30gal long tank). I just want to make sure I am buying the right/good stuff for him.

Here's what I got in my cart

5lb bag of aspen bedding - $5

Ultratherm Heat Pads 11 x 17 in - $22

Taylor Thermometers #1522 - $14

ReptiTemp Rheostat - $18
http://www.beanfarm.com/store/agora...mperature_Control&user4=Rheostat/Dimmer&xm=on

shipping is $15

Does anyone know if the thermometer/rheostat are good?
I know you can make a rheostat but I know I would never get around to it

Also is 5 pounds of aspen bedding for $5 a good price? I checked the shipping with and without it and it is only $3 extra, so $8 in all for a 5lb bag of bedding. Not to sure of the going rate for aspen but that sounds reasonable to me? no?

I have no experience with the first thermometer but the zoomed is nice. A lot of people use one from walmart.
