Cage size for 2

I have one corn snake right now, she is about 13 inches long and in a 30 gallon tank, I would like to add a second corn snake later this week and I was wondering if the tank would be good for them even when they become full sized or will I need a bigger one? Thanks for your help :)

Oh boy -
You may want to do a search on co-habitation. Most people here will tell you not to put them together in the first place.

see even Kathy doens't have one answer, yes do it, no dont. it's up to you, just take the proper precausions, feeding, time after feeding apart, ect.

keep them apart for 4-6 hours after feeding if you feed them on different days, if you feed them back to back, then a half hour is fine, but I keep mine apart for a few hours anyway, just to be safe. I am getting a 40 gallon breeder for my two, they are females, not breeding them, obviously, but that is a fine size, a 30 should be ok, depending on what size they are, I will probably, or maybe not, seperate mine when they are full size. and put a different snake in the 40 gallon breeder, a bigger snake.

It really is up to you, most of the people on the site will tell you not to do it under any circumstances, but then all the breeders by me say that it's fine as long as you're doing it the right way (ie: feeding in seperate containers, pleanty of hides, etc). I have my two in a 30 gallon. I have a yearling, and approx. a 2 year old. Their fine for now, but when they're full grown they're each going to get their own cage, because they just won't have enough room. So just keep in mind that eventually, just for them to have enough room you'll probably have to get two seperate tanks or one very large one. Also, the only reason that I do this is because I have two females in there. If I were to get a male he would have his own house, and I wouldn't house two males together once they were past a year or so.

If you're going to do it, but you're still concerned, keep an extra steralite around, you can use a drill to make air holes, and then you'll always have a cheap extra house around incase you need to seperate them immediatly.

I really like my snakes. If one ate another, it might change the way I feel about them. When I was a kid I kept gerbils. Their cannibalism disgusted me to the point that I stopped keeping them (and probably prompted me to keep animals that preyed on them). It may be a natural thing, but I don't like it.

I've also got too much time and money invested in my snakes to allow this to happen (and it DOES happen).

After seeing some of these pictures of what COULD happen I decided never to even let the snakes be together for 5 minutes unless its for breeding purposes hehe.

Theres more like that around the site. Its somewhat rare, but it can happen. Also the stress level wouldn't be recommended, especially with your girl not eating on her own or shedding on a regular basis ~,~
