Calcium Supplement ...

Hope H

Corn-A-Holic
I have read numerous times about females needing extra calcium added to their feedings this time of year, but what do you all use and how do you administer it? I have a couple that will be breeding for my first time. All help is greatly appreciated...Thanks!

I've been using a mixture of Super Preen vitamins and Osteoform for years. There are a lot of products on the market now that can provide calcium and vitamin supplements. But what I have been using seems to work just fine, and I haven't had any real incentive to change.

But you do need to provide the supplements year round for the female. Feeding the snakes lab or home raised rodents probably does not give them everything they would get in the wild as far as vitamins, amino acids, minerals, etc. are concerned.

The female needs to build up RESERVES for when the time comes to produce the eggs. She can't build up this reserve overnight.
