I was just wondering if a female snake could lay eggs without having been bred to a male? Is this possible. I have had Cleo for 2 months now and she is around 3 yrs old(I think), she is almonst 4' long. I wanted to know if this was possible, just in case I woke up one day and found a surprise in her tank. If it is possible, and she does lay eggs, what do I do with them??? Thanx

well they wouldn't be fertile so I guess you would throw them away? What else would you do with a whole bunch of infertile eggs? Or "slugs" are they are sometimes called but that reminds me of the slimy crawly things.
Sometimes I think females can retain sperm from a previous year or a previous breeding and the eggs can be fertilized that way. Sometimes. But if you snake has never ever mated with a snake the eggs won't be fertile.
