Can American Colubrids Breed With Asian Colubrids?

As the title states, can American colubrids breed with Asian colubrids? For example, is it possible to breed a corn with a bamboo rat (so pretty!)? If so, has anyone actually done this? Must have pictures if so!

I used to own a corn X Japanese ratsnake - and I've heard of other crosses though I haven't actually seen them.

Check out this thread. It's just a pairing - not proven yet, but I'd follow it to see what happens. It's the only actual breeding I've seen evidence of, though that's not to say it hasn't been done by others (I never took a lot of time to look for it).

I'd seen that thread but was confused on the species of the green snake. Maybe I just didn't read carefully enough.

I believe it's an Asian vine snake... a rear-fanged species pretty far removed from a corn snake. If the offspring are viable would be an interesting cross.

I don't want to be the one to check if the offspring is venomous.
I'm interested in that thread also because someone mentioned that there can never be a cross between venomous and constrictor because the venomous would be a bit more evolved. Curious if the offspring will strangle or bite.

Well, it's rear-fanged, so I don't know if that will make a difference. Either way an asian vine snake bite is very rarely serious. They're like hognoses in that regard.

Huh. Will be interesting. If I liked the attitude of Bamboo Rats a little more, I'd try my hand at a cross with a corn, just to see what we would get. I know we all ready have corns as bright as Bamboos, but I love that stripe!

I saw some pics of a corn night snake cross. I don't know if the hybrids were venomous or not. Their eyes looked really weird, like a corn that turned to the dark side of the force.
