This might be a stupid question, but my daughter shared her wonderful germs with me and now I have a cold. Can my snake catch my cold if I handle him? Obviously I will sanitize my hands before and after handling him. He's new so I don't want to let him go too long without being handled.

I dont believe you could give your snake your cold,I would let him settle in and when you feel better,maybe then you could hold him.I am sure it will be alright!
 
Thanks for the advice! We've had him for a week now, handled him once and fed him 2 days ago. I was planning to handle him for 5-10 minutes each night until he eats again Saturday. I'm just so anxious to get him out again! :)
