Can you have snakes in College?

Most colleges do not allow anything other than fish.

And living off campus depends. Prices will be different by the time you're in college, but in my area, right now, rent for a 1 bedroom appt is about $1500. Then there's utilities (mine about $300/month), tv/internet/phone ($100/month), food ($150/month), gas, car insurance etc.

My rent at VT from 2002-03 was $675. We split it two ways (me and a roomie). I could have "small caged pets" and a dog or cat if I paid the pet deposit.

Can you?
Also if you cant how much is it to live off campus *comforotable*?

If you're not yet sure what it costs to take care of your own needs in your geographic location, maybe you should wait just a little on bringing snakes into the equation. You have to know all your own variables having to do with your area, transportation, food and so on, because you don't want to all of a sudden come up short of funds for snake food.

These are the kinds of skills it is good to acquire though- how to budget, calculate what you'll need for extras, etc. so this is a good time to learn how to research that stuff! It's good you are asking now, before the fact !

Most dorms don't allow animals. Some people sneak them in, but you can also get caught.

In most college towns, rents are going to be a little more pricier. You could always get a studio/efficiency if you want the lower end of the price scale, they're usually not too bad in price.

When I lived in Madison,WI it was around $800 for a 1 bedroom loft style. I could rent a whole house for that much living where I am right now.

Where I am you can get a one bedroom apartment with study for $555, student discount. Includes water. Cable/internet is separate. If you know someone who doesn't mind having a small bedroom (aka the study) then you could split it. All pets allowed, uncaged you have to pay $75 upfront pet fee plus an extra $10 a month. Caged, no charge.

Nobody can tell you, because it's different in every town... we don't even know where you'll be living during college, so how could we make an educated guess? I live in San Francisco, where even next to the college you'll pay around $1500 for a ONE bedroom apartment - but where I went to college in Oregon, you can still get a 2-3 bedroom for like $800. So it all depends on where you go, and whether you're willing to have roommates or not. You're only 14, so luckily you have a while to figure this out. ;)

Kids today, LOL... sorry, but it's just funny that using the internet is lazier than asking your mom. :D

I have two corns and a betta in my dorm, I just hide them under my bed during room inspections. Most RA's aren't out to get you in trouble.

I tried to do that but my roommate told the RA and they made me get rid of him D: I sent him to live with my boyfriend and then I decided I'd be happier there so I totally ditched my dorm room. Everything but my clothes and hygiene things are still there but I'm not. So much nicer living in an apartment ^_^

I live in a single, so I guess I got lucky. But, everyone on my hall knows about the babies, and they're all cool with it so long as they all get to come watch them eat. lol

You got lucky. I hate dorms.....tiny beds, tiny cramped room, and too many people running around being noisy at 1am so I can never get a good nights sleep. Plus I hate sharing a room with strangers and I am used to having a lot of pets (grew up with 7 cats and 5 dogs), so it was miserable for me.
