The Crazy Snake Lady! :-)
Hi everybody!

My late clutch this year from my male Classic het Anery, hypo (ph Amel) and female Classic het. Amel and Anery gave me some beautiful Classics and Anerys....but the normals dont all look alike.

I know no two snakes are the same, but these classics are so different in colour. Where some are a deeper brown/orangey there is one which background colour is really light, quite pinkish almost and the orange looks a little peachy?? I've taken numerous pictures but the pics dont seem to show what i'm trying to explain, i shall keep trying though.
So what i'm really asking is, if it is a classic like the others, is it normal for there to be such a difference in colour?

Any help on this would be fab, or if you need any more info i'll be happy to add.

Thanks in advance guys!! :D

Does it look something like this?

Or maybe something like this?

Thanks for the pics. Right, definatly not like the first, the 2nd pic however.... My one has more of a contrast between the brown saddles and the background colour, making the background look alot lighter. Mine also has slightly more orangey/peachy bits from the head for about 5 spots down then fades. I'll do my best to get a good pic. Maybe a comparison to its classic sibling would work, then even if it doesnt show its true colours how i see them at least the difference will be noticeable.

What is the 2nd pic?

Thanks again! :D

Have they shed yet? I've not seen it in Normals, but over the years I've hatched a wide variety of Amel variations - even odd ones that emerge with so little colour that they look like Snows. However, within 2 or 3 sheds, the colours even out and they all look the same.

OK...we're getting closer. We've eliminated hypo (1st one I posted), and it's not a nice mocha-colored lavender (2nd one I posted).
How about these?

Susan, thanks again for the pics. well i'd say the first pic (of the 2nd lot of photos) is the closest, with all the others normals looking very much like the 2nd pic. So if those first 2 pics are of normals (classics) then is it normal to have such a variation of one morph within a clutch??

Yes, they are normals. There can be quite a large variation in a single morph in a single clutch, mostly noticeable in the ones on the "extreme " edges. Some day, compare a photo of a good Okeetee phase and a good Miami phase and then keep telling yourself that they are both normals. ;)
