Can you?

No, you can't.

Amel and bloodred are recessive traits. They require *2* copies of the gene in order for it to be expressed. So unless the blood is het amel, and the amel is het blood, you will get ALL normal offspring het for amel and blood.

Only if they are het for each other. This is what you would possibly be getting:

Amel het Blood x Blood het Amel

1 / 4 Bloodred het Amel
1 / 4 Amel het Bloodred
1 / 4 Normal het Amel, Bloodred
1 / 4 Fire

Of course if there's other hets that would change, but the baseline is that if they are het for each other than yes you can make them possibly. If not you will have to breed their offspring back to each other in order to make fires.

what if i have a bloodred het amel and an anery het amel?

still no fire

if you want a fire...BOTH parents must have all the traits you want. For a fire, BOTH parents must have amel and bloodred....either in homozygous (visual) form, or heterozygous form.

bloodred het amel x anery het amel =

normals het bloodred, anery, ph amel
amels het bloodred, anery

ahhhh alright thanks, but what can i get out of that pairing? thats what im breeding in the spring
*sigh* Bree, very nicely already answered both pairing questions you asked.

If they aren't het for anything you would get all normals het for anery and blood.

Amel het Blood x Blood het Amel

1 / 4 Bloodred het Amel
1 / 4 Amel het Bloodred
1 / 4 Normal het Amel, Bloodred
1 / 4 Fire
