I was wondering if there are any breeders from Canada on this site. I am looking to purchase a female corn snake but I don't want to purchase from a pet store.
We got our Elsa from Big Al's in Hamilton, but they are a reputable pet store, mainly focused on fish and reptiles. I've seen where and how they keep their reptiles and they also grow their own food. Our 5-month old Elsa was perfectly trained for easy feeding and handling. So don't necessarily shy away from a pet store. Some of them actually know what they are doing. See if thy have a location close to you. And absolutely ask to handle the snake. They recommended Elsa as she was not a hatchling anymore, so starting her up at home was easy. http://www.bigalscanada.com/Stores/Locations/storelocator.html
Wrong topic, there is a topic for people looking for corns, this one is for the sellers. I'll see if I can get someone to move it for you, you may get better results.
There's loads of great corn snake breeders in Canada, I have an amazing hatchling from Gary at CrazyColubrids right now, he's a member here, and there's a few others here as well. You could also check out Reptiles Canada, lots of Canadian breeders advertise there. I wouldn't go to Big Al's, even though they only sell fish and reptiles, my experience with them has shown that at least when it comes to fish, their knowledge and advice is extremely poor. I'd find a quality breeder and go with them, even if you have to ship. My snake from Gary was my first experience in shipping a snake, and it was a really positive experience, and not nearly as expensive as I thought it would be! Totally worth it!
I also bought 2 snakes from Crazy Colubrids and would recommend him. I *think* that 5 Star had to sell off some of her collection and may not be breeding this season. There is also Montreal Tesseras who seem to be active. I have communicated with them but they were sold out at the time I was looking.
