Cannibalism

The Cat

I'm looking for information on cannibalistic reptiles out of curiosity and I was wondering if anyone had stories or knowledge on the topic, since there isn't much information on Google search results... It doesn't necessarily have to be snake-related, I'm looking for information on turtles, lizards, geckos, etc. as well as snakes. Some questions I have are
-is size a trigger?
-what are some causes of cannibalism?
-does the cannibal usually survive?
-do they always regurge their prey or can they actually digest it?

I'm more specifically going for the information on non-snake species, though any information would work.

My son put a baby bearded dragon in with an older bearded dragon. Turned out to be a very expensive and painful lesson for him. There was a size difference although not that much. I didn't think the cannibal would survive. There was no regurge, she had a few large poops and was absolutely normal.
