I was curious if anyone knew of any blueprints or plans to build a snake box- preferably out of wood, that I can put into a nice wooded area to see if any snakes decied to make it their home. Don't worry I won't keep them - i won't even touch them. i Just need it for a project. I am trying to find the approximate number of snakes and the different species in my area. Thank you for your help.

build a low profile box laid on the ground with a floor or without. maybe 1.5'x1.5', if you make a floor use whatever is on the ground in the area to fill the bottom of the box. a 2.5" to 3" hole should suffice. don't lay the boxes in the open, inbetween groups of trees and rocks/ledges is good.
