Sticking To The Ceiling
Earlier this night I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and put some orajel on some weird and stupid sores I have in my mouth, and I turned the light on and the first thing I saw was a big black spider on the floor. I scared it and it scared me, but in the end I caught it and now refer to it as a 'she'.

My main concern was that she was a black widow despite having not seen any for a few years, but with a definite autoimmune disease (gotta get some more stuff done on that though), there's no way I'll tolerate something that venomous. Plus, we have pets. Obviously I'm still cautious because she's a spider, but not freaked out and needing to kill her.

But obviously I realized she wasn't a black widow, hence why she's still alive and sitting in a deli cup. She's very... interesting. She looks similar to the wolf and funnel spiders I've seen around here, yet has a thicker body and longer legs than they do. She's also black with brown legs and markings, and very furry. The aforementioned species are a bit hairy, but she looks flat out FURRY. She's also not very aggressive- everything she did was mostly just trying to get away. She didn't do any threat displays or bite at anything, even when I poked at her legs gently with that toothpick to try making her show her face some.

But basically since I've never seen a spider as pretty as she is and she's bigger than the ones around (which isn't too much to say compared to what the East coast has), I'm curious as to if someone can give me something more to go on than 'it looks like a wolf/funnel spider'.

its a parsons spider. I hate spiders but i used to read a lot about them. A lot of people confuse them with brown recluses.
