Cedar Log Dangerous??? Suggestions Welcome

Hey, I make Most of my hides from logs that i hollow out myself. I clean them up but i wanted to start making some hides out of cedar wood, I've read somewhere on here that the cedar bedding is bad for snakes, but would a cedar log be the same? Anyone know let me know. I think it would be ok, I think the only health risk is RI problems with the bedding if so the log should be fine, but i want to make sure.

Can anyone shed some light on this please? The viv is almost done, and we need to know if we could put this log in or not.
Thanks,

I definitely wouldn't put it in. It's not only RI's that are an issue. There's a part of cedar in general (I think it has something to do with the sap and fumes from it) that is toxic to most (if not all) reptiles. Yes, it can take a while for the effects to become visible, but is the health of your animal something you want to risk?
