That feature is enabled after you have been registered for 30 days. Not 30 posts. That's when you get changed to a member automatically. :D

As far as I know you become a member at 30 posts, regardless of how long you've belonged to the forum. However, you also have to have belonged for at least 30 days before you can edit your member status (ie. go from Member to Snakophile, or whatever).
