Charcoal or Phantom?

CornCrazy

What's one more???
I acquired this girl yesterday. she was originally bought as a charcoal (from Serpenco). I think she might be a phantom. Of course, I know i'll have to prove her out to know for sure. I am thinking she was one of those "tweeners" and got sold as a charcoal just to be on the safe side.

Here she is:

And just for reference, here is a male that I got yesterday, too. He was bought as a phantom.

I would think is a charcoal if thats what Rich sold it as.This is the guy that had the eye to spot countless morphs, never mind the ones that he's bred hundreds of.

Rich has said that sometimes he can't tell if an animal is hypo or not. Sometimes, they are darker than a hypo and lighter than a normal. He usually sells those as non-hypo...since it would make a custormer happier to get an additional bonus. Maybe he will check out this thread and give his opinion.

I would say Charcoal also Terry...........perhaps she is het. Hypo & that may be providing the lighter tones that you see.

Here is a photo of my male Phantom for comparision (photo at 12 months)

You will know her genetics in time, of course!

I've noticed other het hypos look a lot like tweeners, which always makes me wonder if the breeder is just being cautious with labeling. For instance, I have a male anery, het hypo that is very light. I wouldn't hazard to guess if your girl is phantom, though I'm leaning towards that direction.
