Chat?

So in randomly looking at stuff on the website I found the Chat room. Does anyone actually use it or is it just a feature that sits there? I think it's a pretty awesome idea!

I've never used it. Guessing its not mobile friendly. I clicked on it and nothing.

No it's probably not mobile friendly.

It is not mobile friendly. However it is usually more active in the evenings than during the day. Usually during the day no one goes in there.

i try to stop in but half the time i get an authentification failed notice

Yeah when I'm on my boyfriends laptop it pops up with an authentication failed notice too... but not on my computer.

More than likely the problem is the Java implementation or version being used on the device trying to connect to the chat system that is causing problems. :shrugs:

I never use it, because I'm almost always on my iPad and just get a blank page. To be fair though, I've never really liked chat rooms, so probably wouldn't use it much even if I could access it.

I personally love them but mostly because when I'm online and in that specific chat room it's because I really want to talk about whatever it is. Private messages work but sometimes the anticipation of the next message drives me nuts.

Rich chat works for me on Fauna but not here, I get a failed authentication msg most of the time :shrugs: It just worked for me, but 3 minutes ago it didn't...

Hmm that's odd. I've been in it most of the day. Maybe someone from Tech support will jump in and help lol

It worked for me when I first tried it, but after that it wasn't working and I was getting "Authentication Failed". My theory is that since I had "stay logged on" enabled, it authenticated me fine the first time I tried it, but I think it must have tied the chat authentication to that date and the next day it stopped working.

I tried logging off and clearing cache/cookies and it still didn't work. My last thing to try was logging off and not coming to the forum for an hour or so, and just now I logged on and tried the chat and it worked fine. No idea if it's what I think it is with the staying logged on, but if you want to get into the chat and you can't, I'd try logging off and coming back in an hour or two and logging on and trying again.

It does that to me sometimes too without me doing anything and then I try again and it works fine. I am on there now.
