This little fellow came out of my Butter X Amel clutch in august 2003. From what I know the Butter female and my amel male does not have any okeete or reverse okeete genes. They are not related to each other, and to get a reverse okeete you would need 2 animals that were het for okeete right?
This one looks like a reverse okeete to me, a Amel. Het butter reverse okeete ...he's got fantastic colors! Hope the photo shows it.

Tell me what you think!

There isn't an actual "Okeetee" or "Reverse Okeetee" gene. These morphs are based on a particular look and are not necessarily passed down from the parents. With that said you have a nice Amel, het Butter. The white saddle rings are very nice and could meet the definition of a Reversee Okeetee

hmm

I thought that reverse okeete was a selective bred amel. okeete..is that wrong? I mean the reverse okeete clearly shows the Okeete effect after all.

bmm...

I could be wrong, but I think the reverse Okeetee got its name simply because it looked like a reverse Okeetee. It's my understanding that they don't necessarily come from Okeetee lines.
