Cigar Boxes

I'm considering using wooden cigar boxes as hiding spots. Obviously I'd need to steer clear of cedar. Has anyone tried this? Do you think pine boxes be a problem since they do not ooze resin?

Thanks!
Brady

I wouldn't...
Not that I can give you a decent reason why not, but unless I know everything about something going into a cage, I don't use it.

Cigar boxes would probably be fine, but I wouldn't use them. I've had some for years that still reek of cigar, and the wood can be pretty aromatic too. Since corns are just as happy with a Ritz cracker box, or a bent piece of cardboard, I wouldn't risk it.

Thank you for the quick replys. I was on the fence there but I'll stick to using cracker boxes. :) I'll save the cigar boxes for making guitars.

Thanks!

If you have throw away cigar boxes I'll take them.

Sorry Wade, I pick them up from a local smoke shop for another hobby of mine. :) I see lots of ten or more on eBay all the time for about a buck a piece.

Stacey, I have a hint of an opinion but I'm going to let a more senior member answer that one for us.
