Classroom too cold

I found out that they are turning off the heat in my classroom at 3:30 pm to a temp of 50 degrees. I got a second UTH and thermostat and set it for 72 degrees F. Now over winter break they are planning to totally shut off all heating (to save money- until the pipes break). So last night Chino came home with me, viv and all. :)

Just a warning to other teachers that they do not always tell what they are planning to do over long holidays.

Chino is peeking out and moving around her viv already.

Since the middle of August she has gone from 20 to 41 grams. Not a speedy grower but that may be better for her??

You can get a pretty big heating pad designed for sprouting seeds for the cool side of her viv, and put it on a thermostat, which would help overnight. Or just hope they have problems with pipes freezing over break (I empathize-my former school district did the same tricks, which, in my case, probably cost them far more in instrument repairs due to cold or heat than it saved in not heating/cooling my room over breaks!)

Already got a second UTH and Thermostat it works really well. Made the kids think and some check out the temperatures when they come in.
