Cleaners/Disinfectants...

My tank is too heavy to take outside and clean.

Does anybody know of something that I can use to clean the inside walls and floor of my tank (for my monthly cleanings), that does not require a rinse? Just a simply wipe down.

Ive heard of the vinegar solution, but also heard that requires a rinse..

Ive heard of simple green. No rinse?

Anything else?

I use vinegar and water and I don't rinse. By the time I get everything back in the tank the smell is gone.

That's what I wanted to hear!

So let time take the smell away and there's no need to rinse?

and 20% vinegar the rest water?

Does anybody know of any other options?
Easier to get, maybe cheaper?

Chlorhexidine all the way. Here's a gallon of it at amazon for $12.99: http://www.amazon.com/Chlorhexidine...1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1231966209&sr=8-1

Keep in mind that you dilute it 2 tbsp to one gallon of water. That means it will make 128 gallons of a working cleaner!! That's only 10¢ per gallon of cleaner - doesn't get any cheaper than that. I also sell part of that gallon to my friends with pets so they can clean their rabbit cage, hamster cage, dog crate, etc with it. If you can do that or go in on it with someone else, it'll cost you next to nothing (or in my case, free!).

And with that mixer, you just spray in everywhere on the floor and walls, then wipe off? and that's it?

I use a solution of 1:10 ratio of bleach and water in a spray bottle. I spray and wipe with paper towel. Does the job nicely.

Bleach can just be wiped off? Really? Maybe I'll use a bleach or Vinegar solution, and do a minor rinse without ever moving my tank...?

i use Lysol disinfectant and then rewipe it with water and let it dry never had a problem with my two corns. five years now.

Yup, its all I do. For urates/poop stuck to the bottom, I let it soak for a min or two, clean it all up, then do another good wipe down to ensure its completely clean.

I have a question as well. I bought a spray called Rougier Vap, with its main ingredient being chlorhexidine gluconate. My concern is that there's also 4% isopropyl alcohol in it. I read that this irritates snake tissue. Would this amount, and also once I dilute the spray in water, irritate the snake?

The alcohol should evaporate fairly quickly. Just make sure to give it a good rinse and let it dry out before putting your snake back in. I don't think it should be much concern.

I'm not sure about how it's called in english, but I use "oxigenated water" (3%, used for desinfecting small wounds too, stings though :)). It reacts with everything organic and desinfects well. It's an "unstable chemical binding", so after reacting with everything it comes in contact with, it "reacts away" with air or water. So you can either rinse it, or let it dry and it's gone. Very easy to work with.
Out here you can buy it in a pharmacy. Don't know how it is over the big pond though...

Hydrogen peroxide??

I vote for bleach solution, then wipe with plain water. Unless you suspect coccidia, then ammonia.
