Closed vs. Open Rack

Currently, I have my corns in a homemade open rack. I do have some ball pythons on the same rack (two different heat sources). When they outgrow their current tubs (I have everyone in a 28qt tub), I'll turn my current rack into one holding 4 41qt tubs and purchase another 28qt rack for the corns. My question is this: since they need a day/night cycle, is it better to have an open rack or a closed one (like a rack from boaphile, animal plastics, etc)?

Animal Plastics makes an open rack, too- the Economy Plastic.

I don't know how important day/night cycles are, but my observation is snakes in closed racks spend all their time hovering at the window.

I do not think it makes a difference to the snakes.

I have a closed rack and I think the only reason my snakes are at the front is because that is where the cool side is located. Also, I place there water dish/hide on the cool side.
