Clutter in the Cage...

Bloodred Dad!

Proud Parent
I recently looked at the pictures of peoples vivs on the forum. So many of them looked so great that I got inspired to make my snake's environment more interesting. I went out and bought some fake ivy and such and all out decorated the viv. But now I wonder if it's too cluttered for him. Most of the time he's in one of the three hides and at night he's cruisin. Now he's always in the same hide and i haven't spotted him anywhere else in the past three days. He feeds Saturday, so I'd at least think he'd become more active as his hunger increased. Maybe not (obviously not).
Do you think he is probably cruising around the viv and I'm missing it? Do corn snakes have a problem with a lot of items in there habitat? What type of environment do they have where they're found in the wild (in rocks, open feild, trees, brush pile, etc)? Any advice at all would be helpful.

I tend to stuff as much ground cover as I can into my vivs. Corns are naturally secretive, so the more freely they can move about whilst under cover, the better I think it is for them.

Could be your fella is just taking his time getting used to all the new stuff. Or he could be going into a shed, which will make him hide away more than usual.

My guess is he's blue. I'm one of the people with vivs crammed full of vines and hides and big water crocks (Cherry even has a hammock!) and some snakes take advantage of that, and some hide all the time.
