hi all am i ok to use a hollow coconut shell cut in half as a hide for my baby corn snake? if so what is the best way to sterilise it?

It should be fine to use as long as you make sure there aren't any holes the snake could get stuck in (you know, how people sometimes drill out the "eyes" of the coconut). I don't see a need to sterilize it, but you could bake it at a very low temp for a couple hours.

I boiled mine so it would be clean and after that i baked it (because i don't wanna wait for it to dry xD)

One final tip for coconut shells (or natural wood). Do check the cut edges to make sure there aren't any sharp points and sand any you may find. Personally I like using natural items in my vivs. I tell myself that the snakes are more at ease with natural scents and they have enough unnatural qualities in their life as captives. I have no data for that, but it seems logical.
