color of hemipenes

Scrufdog

that one guy
I was sexing my hatchlings, all about 1 week old, and all have just finished shedding. I noticed that, as usual, most of the male's hemis were dark red. However, 2 of the 'males', when popped, looked almost clear. I repopped them a couple times to see if it was a fluid thing or not, but they popped out just like a hemi. None of the females showed anything like this, just the purple bump.

Thoughts?

Perfectly normal. Hemipenes like other parts of the snake vary in coloration. Take tongues as an example, some are red, pink, black, white and everything in between. Snows, blizzard, amels etc frequently have clear hemipenes.
