I am new to the site. I have had reptiles such as bearded dragons, garter snakes, etc. I have always liked the color of the bright orange and red corn's, but with all the words like het, morph, bloodreds I wouldn't know what to ask for if I was getting one without seeing them. Can anyone help me understand with poss. pics and what makes them what they are??? Thank you Heath.

This is a bloodred stripe:

This is a lava bloodred. Lava is a gene that reduces black, like hypo.

My advice is to go to the photo gallery and look at tons and tons of pictures.....and if you can try to learn the basic look of a morph a day. Just remember that there is variation between individuals. If you see something you like and it is not labelled, ask the owner what morph that snake is. Don't worry, you'll get it. And joining this site was a great start!!

Nanci,
Thanks for all those pics. I too, love the reds and hopefully I can sneak another snake into the house come September.

I love that bloodred stripe; THAT is what I want in a bloodred. Now I just gotta find a hatchling...
