Hello everyone,

I haven't been able to turn up much independently, so thought I'd ask here. Nagichi has typically been a very active snake, except around shed time. Ever since his last shed a few weeks ago he barely moves, and has just started
to refuse food. I have no idea what could be wrong. Warm side is 86 currently and cool side 79. He had concerned me a week or so ago because I hadn't seen any excretions, but a bath or two helped that. Any ideas?

Usually he will make at least some movement if not hide when I take the lid off his terrarium, but the past few days he hasn't moved much at all when I have.

It's so hard to tell since he's Amel. He's just never shed that close together before. It's possible, but so hard to tell. Especially when you're paranoid like me ;).

I've been hearing the whole 'Amel shedding' thing a lot, and how it's hard to tell. I've heard that it's the Aneries that are hard to tell. You would think you'd notice the blue over the red.

I have no idea what could have possibly been wrong. He's limp and no longer moves when I touch him. I'm heart broken.

I'm so sorry to hear that. It can happen to anyone. Sometimes we find a snake dead, who was fine that morning, seemingly.

When you clean out his viv, use a 25% ammonia solution (be careful not to inhale it). Let it sit for a couple hours. Then rinse well. Please don't give up on snakes.
