Conditioning using manipulation of photoperiod

Hi guys, I knwo its not corns but i have some corns that will be breeding size by next season and i want to try this with them too if i can.Me and my boyfriend were interested in breeding snakes by manipulation of the photoperiod, ive heard of a couple of people doing that with corns, we have an eveglades rat and a everglades/black rat intergrade, we'd like to mate together, and wed prefer using manipulation of the photoperiod rather than brumation if possible.If we can do this, would it effect the viability of the eggs?
