Controlling snakes in Guam

The birds of Guam developed without a predator for 10s of thousands of years. Because of this, they had no idea how to react to a predator. Id have to look it up to be sure, but I think it is 6 or 7 of the 8 or 9 native species of birds on Guam have been extirpated. Brown tree snakes can reek some serious havoc on small tropical islands. I am pretty sure that the Hawaii govt will not let any "normal" citizen keep any snake as a pet, because of what has happened in Guam.

If you are interested in more information, google "Heather Waye". She's a PhD in Zoology and has done studies on the brown tree snake problems in Guam.
