I was going to feed my snake and I put a cup of water in the mike and put it on high for 2 mins . Then I put a pinkie in a ziplock baggie and put it in the water after is was in the mike . Took my dog for a little walk ( 10 mins ) and I was going to feed my snake but the pinkie felt pretty firm and had a white color tone to it . So I think I "cooked "it .
Is this ok to feed to my snake ?

i've accidentally cooked f/t food before and some snakes will eat it, some won't. Those that have never had a problem from it though.. it's just a little unsettling because it kind of smells..... appetizing?

AHAHahahhaha I cant say Ive ever liked the smell of Cooked pinky, but yea some will eat it, I know the first time I did it.. I gagged but fed it to my snake, she ate it, "I" didnt do it again though.. that was... unsettling... big ICK factor to it in my opinion.

They cook fast! Next time, try thawing in warm or hot water from the tap, for just a couple minutes, then run under really hot tap water for a couple seconds.

I use the same method (cup in the microwave), but I nuke my cup of water for 1 minutes, then thaw the pinky for 10.

Unless it looks like its been fried, it is fine.

To be honest....... this is one of the methods I do to get some non-feeder baby corns to start eating :) Maybe not quite as long as 10 minutes though hehe :) It should be fine. Just make sure it isnt too darn hot so that your snake gets burned when you give the mouse to it though.

I usually just throw the F mouse into the microwave for 15 seconds. When my snake ate pinkies i would put them into a dime bag and put it under the tap for a couple min, but i think she prefers microwaved ones.

i would NEVER thaw anything in the microwave! ever seen an egg explode? picture that but...with guts.

ICK, for pinks I nuke the water 30 seconds, peachies the water gets 45 seconds. Hoppers and weanlings get 1 minute, and adult mice get 1.5 minutes. They thaw out in 5 mins.

It's fine. For anything, eating cooked food makes it easier to digest.

Once I start breeding snakes and have a group to work with, I'll have a group or two nomming the same number and frequency of cooked rodents as another group or two and see what happens.
