Coral Snow?

Hey guys. I have a question about determining if my snake is just a crazy colored snow, or actually has hypo genes.

Unfortunately my cameras on the fritz so I don't actually have pictures of the actual snake, but I can try my best at describing what he looks like.

The snakes an '08, probably about a full year now (I don't know what month he pipped.) When we picked him up he was the largest of his group, and he was a soft pink in color like a normal snow would be when they're just babies.

I got this picture off of google, but it's pretty much what he looks like, but his sides are much more yellow.

His saddles rings towards the front are purple, but as the bright color fades from his front to his back, they become almost like a bubblegum green.

We're quite confused because we thought we just picked up a baby snow, but it's turning out he's nothing but white! Can you tell if he's hypo by a picture or do we have to breed him to find out?

u have to breed him for sure to if he´s hypo or not

I agree. A test breeding will be the only way to determine, 100%, whether, or not, he is Hypo.

BTW To make things a wee confusing ... Some folks only label the snake/morph "Coral Snow" if it is homozygous Hypo... while others use the same name for "selectively bred" (non-Hypo) Coral Snows.

Hypo

Amel masks Hypo
So, I wouldnt think if it was Hypo or not would make a difference.:shrugs:

It could be dilute as well.. Is it motley?

Nope. He's just a normal pattern.

I guess we'll just have to do some trials. I guess that's the price to pay when you get a snake with no known hets. Maybe I'll be lucky and he'll prove true.

Thanks guys. I was getting confused on the coral snow part. There should be different names for things that have genes or no genes for certain traits. :nope:

Couldn't agree, with you, more.
There are a few same names that are used for two different morphs/genetics.
Plus, there are other names, which are used, that can be a little misleading (making you believe a certain gene is there when it is not).
Either, of these things, should not be ... but they do exist.
