Corn from an out of state breeder shipped to NJ?

Hi everyone! I was wondering if any members from NJ would know if I'm able to get a corn from an out of state breeder shipped into NJ? I'm not sure what the rules are on that--I couldn't really find anything about it online. I thought I'd give it a shot and ask before I call the state wildlife department and have to deal with "press 1, press 2, please hold" LOL!

From what I read on your native species list, it is illegal to CAPTURE native species. But, also:

"All owners of captive snakes require permits. The permits can
be obtained through the Division of Fish and Wildlife’s Exotic
and Nongame Permits Office (www.njfishandwildlife.com)"

The full list and information can be read here.

Thanks for the cool "Snakes of NJ" pamphlet! Ok, I called the Fish and Wildlife Dept. to ask about corns--amazingly, someone actually answered right away--and I was told I can get a corn from out of state, although it has to be an albino because corn snakes are endangered here. And when I send in the permit application I send in the receipt I get from a breeder. Good to know!

Glad Fish and Wildlife got back to you, Jersey is kind of a broken state like most and that are laws are pretty old and were setup years ago and now only protecting the few desolate patchs they live in or have been released to. They will care about the already destroyed wildlife instead of putting programs to add more, the world is flooded with corns XD just not in our own state. Just my 2 Jersey cents
