Hi,
I’ve just got back from my honeymoon to discover the person I’d left in charge of my 2 corns left the door on one of the vivs open and my little one, Ashley, escaped! I was deverstated but didn’t give up hope of finding her.
I followed the advise posted elsewhere in this forum of leaving out water dishes for her and a few mice traps (2 litre bottles with a mouse inside; they eat the mouse and then get stuck in the bottle). I also left a few little cups out and about with chpped up mouse bits in them to try and waft the smell around so if she was hiding under the floorboardsshe would get the scent and go looking for food.
Anyway I went to bed tonight pretty much resigned to the fact I’d most likely never see her again. I woke up about midnight and wandered off to the loo, turned on the light and there she was as bold as brass sitting on the floor just behind the sink wrapped around a pipe!
Anyway, snake and owner are now once again reunited and after lots of cuddles with her (she is really affectionate) she’s been fed, watered and is now sleeping it all off with a big podgy belly
Why and I telling you all this? Well, for no other reason that to maybe give hope to anyone who has lost a herp and to say, don’t give up, keep looking. Snakes have to eat sometime and unless they have a way to get out of your house they will eventually go hunting for food. Like me, you’ll most likley stumble upon them when you are not looking.
